Washington State – October 27, 2025
PostgresSolutions today announced the release of a new Git repository containing Docker files bundled with the most common Postgres packages. This new offering provides developers and system administrators with a comprehensive, ready to use environment for rapid deployment, testing and training.
The new Docker image, though measuring a robust 708MB, is described by the company as "worth the footprint" due to the significant time savings and utility provided by having essential packages pre installed. The repository, available now at
https://github.com/jtorral/rocky9-pg17-bundle , utilizes Rocky 9 and Postgres 17 as its base.
In conjunction with the Docker bundle, PostgresSolutions has also released a new version of its popular utility, genDeploy. The updated tool is designed to simplify Docker deployment and environment setup, offering a management experience very similar to that of docker-compose. This release further streamlines the process of getting a feature rich Postgres environment up and running quickly.
Future ARM Support Announced
PostgresSolutions also stated that a Dockerfile optimized for ARM architecture will be available shortly, catering to users leveraging M-series Macs and other ARM-based hardware.
